RESTORATION OF ISLAMIC PULPIT AND KORAN-HOLDER Abstracts: The author describes the restoration of a 19th century Islamic pulpit and Koran-holder originating from the Near East. The objects were made of mother of pearl, horn, bone and ebony-inlay. The pulpit is decorated with lovely wood-carvings, while the Koran-holder’s carving is moderate. The article describes the preparations made before the restoration and the progress of work.
