A szobron tisztítás után szükség volt a repedések eltüntetésére, a hiányok pótlására, a festett felület retusálására, majd egy végső védőbevonattal való ellátásra. Katalin Soós The restoration of an 18th c. Dresser Madonna and Her Dress The restoration of the Dresser Madonna of the Museum of Applied Arts is a double task. On the one hand, the painted, carved wooden sculpture itself had to be restored, on the other hand the dress had to be repaired /under- and ornamented upper- wear/. The work starts with an analysis of the materials. This touches the wood of the sculpture, and also cloths of the dress. The test of the coloring agent of the fabrics was necessary before cleaning the dress. When restoring the sculpture, the cleaning was followed by eliminating the cracks, replacing the missing parts, retouching the painted surface, and providing it with a final protective coating.
