Zsuzsanna Fatartalmú archív nyomópapírok vizsgálata és korának meghatározása a tárolás során bekövetkezett fizikai és kémiai változások alapján A papír mechanikai, szilárdsági és kémiai jellemzői, valamint időállósága nagymértékben függnek a papir nyersanyagától, a kiinduló rostanyagok, átlagos polimerizációs fokától, a feltárás módjától, stb... így idők folyamán a papir eredeti mechanikai, fizikai és optikai tulajdonságai változnak - ez a folyamat az öregedés. A folyamat ismerete nagyon fontos a restaurálási munkáknál. A cikk részletesen ismerteti azokat a természettudományos vizsgálatokat mechanikai tulajdonságok (repesztés, hajlitgatás, stb.) optikai tulajdonság (fehérség) kémiai tulajdonság (felületi pH, vizes kivonat pH) melyek az öregedés okozta károkat kimutatják. Investigation of wood-containing archival printing-papers and determination of their ages on the basis of the physical and chemical changes occurred during the storage The mechanical and chemical caracteristics of the paper as well as those of its strength and durability depend greatly on the raw material of the paper, the average polymerization grade of the initial fibre material, on the way of its opening, etc... Thus the original mechanical, physical and optical features of the paper change in the course of time. This process is called ageing. The knowledge of this process is very important from the point of view of the repairing works. The article writes fully about the investigations of natural science, such as investigation of the-mechanical properties (ripping, flexing, etc.), investigation of the optical properties (whiteness), investigation of the chemical properties (superficial pH, watery extract pH) which reveal the damages caused by the ageing. TTie investigation liave been carried out on old newspaper of given composition and the results obtained have been summarized by the author. (See T. III-IV.) 78
