8. The regulations which shall apply to „prestataires“ so far as war risks are concerned shall be the same as those for „prestataires“ in the service of the French military authorities.

Costs arising out of accidents occurring during the period of service as „prestataires“, exclusive of leave periods, shall be refunded to the French Government by the British military authorities.

9. „Prestataires“ put at the disposal of the Government of the United Kingdom remain subject to all the provisions of the Decree of January 13th, 1940, in regard to the employment of foreigners enjoying the right of sanctuary, particularly in the case of persons acquiring French nationality or becoming entitled, within a brief period, to establish themselves in a foreign country.

10. The provisions contained in Articles 2-9 of this memorandum of Agreement shall take effect from the moment on which these „prestataires“ are placed at the disposal of the Commander in Chief, British Expeditionary Force, and for as long as they shall so remain. This Agreement is concluded for a period of three months and thereafter shall continue in force until either the French Government or the United Kingdom Government shall have given notice to terminate it. In this case the Agreement will terminate two months after the date of such notice.

11. The operation of the present Agreement is entrusted to the General Chef d’Etat- Major General de TArmée á l’Intérieur, and to the Adjutant General, British Expeditionary Force.
