Archivist: János SULYOK In 1777, simultaneously with the Székesfehérvár bishopric, the cathedral chapter was founded. The records between 1777 and 1850 are arranged according to subjects, the later ones are situated in a chronological order. The Archives are maintained by the diocesan authority. The archival material totals 21 running metres. The series Publico-ecclesiastica contains the matters of general ecclesiastical pertinence and the orders of the government bodies of interest to the chapter. — The series Religionaria has mainly episcopal decrees and letters related to ecclesiatical service, together with the records on the churches under the patronage of the chapter (Gyúró, Pákozd, Etyek). — The series Literaria embraces the records on schools, education, books, libraries, the instruction of priests. — The series Intránea comprises the records touching the chapter and the canons immediately (e.g. the 1817 Canónica visitatio of the chapter, records of the patrimonial court from 1801 to 1842, the tithe of Fehérvár) and also those pertinent to the estates and economy of the chapter. — The records and socage conscriptions related to the farms (praedia) Sóskút, Gyúró, Etyek, Barátháza were placed among the Oeconomalia. — The series Diocesanae holds papers on the single bishops, the episcopal goods, the repair of the episcopal palace in 1808. — The series Extranea has records on the county assemblies and elections, the diets, the epidemics, etc. There are separate archival groups for the Székesfehérvár Warden's Office and Treasury of Pious Foundations, the cathedral, the bequests of the canons, the Székesfehérvár section of the National League of Catholic Housewives, the Székesfehérvár Young Men's Club, and the Székesfehérvár AltarAssociation. Up to 1850 the archival material has a repertory.
