The Archives of the Academy has medium level finding aids both to the material in its custody and to that preserved still by the organs. Of these the following have been published so far: A Magyar Tudományos Akadémia Levéltára az Akadémia Könyvtárában (The Archives of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in the Library of the Academy.)Budapest, 1970. — A Magyar Tudományos Tanács iratai (Records of the Hungarian Scientific Council.) Budapest, 1969. — A Magyar Tudományos Akadémia elnökének iratai (Records of the President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.) Vols I to III. Budapest, 1971-1974. — A Magyar Gazdaságkutató Intézet iratai (Records of the Hungarian Institute for Economic Research.) Budapest, 1972. The archival material of the Archives of the Academy may be used according to the Rules of research. The research room is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p'.m. from Monday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Researchers may use the services of the Reprographic Department of the Library of the Academy (production of microfilm, photographs and xerox copies). Also the volumes of the Library of the Academy are at their disposal. The reference library, situated in the archival premises, contains the most important, basic historical and archival works, encyclopaedias, periodicals, also the basic works on the history, organization and members of the Academy. The department 1/a of the Ministry of War began to copy the field-records of the Honvéd and territorial troops. No organisation came to being, however, till the end of the war. Order to establish the archives was given only on 8 April 1919 by the War Commissariat of the Hungarian Councils' Republic. 158
