Preface garian History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Military and Historical Institute and Museum, the University of Szeged and the Hungarian State Archive (MTA-HIM-SZTE-MOL Magyar Medievisztikai Kutatócsoport) and the project Latin Sources, Studies and Manuals for Social and Economic History (Latinički izvori, studije i pomagala za društvenu i gospodarsku povijest) of the Department of Historical Research of the Institute of Historical and Social Sciences of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb. Finally, we have to thank our peer reviewers from three European countries - Attila Zsoldos of the Institut of Historical Research of Hungarian Academy of Science (MTA Történettudományi Intézet), Damir Karbić of the Department of Historical Research of the Institute of Historical and Social Research of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Odsjek za povijesne znanosti Zavoda za povijesne i društvene znanosti Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti) and Martyn Rady of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University College London. Bálint Lakatos of the Research Group for Studying Medieval Hungarian History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Military and Historical Institute and Museum, the University of Szeged and the Hungarian State Archive (MTA-HIM-SZTE-MOL Magyar Medievisztikai Kutatócsoport) should receive a special gratitude, because alongside proofreading of Latin text, he gave us friendly suggestions regarding the whole work. Without their input, the quality of this work would most certainly not be as high. We are also thankful to our friend Ivan Majnarić of the Croatian Catholic University in Zagreb for his expert advices, while we were preparing the last versions of the text. Finally, we would like to thank a young colleague from the University of Zadar, Antun Nekić, who has pointed us to one document which we have omitted by mistake, and to our proof readers - Mirko Sardelić (Department of Historical Research of the Institute of Historical and Social Sciences of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb) for Croatian and Mark Whelan (Royal Holloway, University of London) for English. Of course, the mistakes found in this work, remain only ours. Budapest, May 2014 É.B.H. - S.M. 17
