Diplomatarium comitum terrestrium Crisiensium (1274-1439) it is possible that he is either a descendant of Jakša, or of Junk (because he is mentioned as one of the parties interested in the disputes which were the patrimony of the castle warriors of Križevci).70 Demetrius is mentioned as comes terrestris twice, once in 1330 and once in 1340. In the intitulatio of the first charter he issued, he is mentioned only by his Christian name, without naming his father. As a result we do not know from which family or kindred he originated. From later information, we know that he was the member of the Matthew (Matheus) kindred and that his father was John. A certain Demetrius, son of John, is mentioned as homo banalis in 1334, together with Guy and Mika, son of Matthew. It can be presumed that two former and one future comes terrestris are mentioned as the homines of the ban of Slavonia, Mikes (Prodavić) of the Ákos kindred, even though Guy and Demetrius did not have the title of comes in the charter reporting the event.71 Together with his sons, Nicholas and Stephen, Demetrius bought from Dragun, son of Zobica, son of Skoronja and his sons, John, other John, Gregory and Denis, and their heirs, a half of their hereditary estate.72 Paul, a comes of Križevci, received a mandate in 1343 from the ban of Slavonia, Nicholas Hahót, to investigate whether a part of the estate of Guščerovac (Szenternye) belonged to John, a son of John, son of Punk. Because of that, an inquest was organised to determine the truth and witnesses were recorded in a charter. Among them was also a certain Comes Demetrius, son of John. It is probable that this person is identical to our Demetrius, comes terrestris.73 A similar situation occurred on 13 December 1343, when Comes Demetrius, son of John came appeared in front of the chapter of Zagreb. He appeared as homo of Nicholas Hahót, ban of Slavonia, in order to make an agreement between Nicholas, son of Peter of Ludbreg and the castle warriors of Moravče. The homo banalis in the charter identified as of Križevci (de Crisio), is probably Demetrius, the comes terrestris of Križevci.74 Nicholas, son of Peter of Ludbreg, requested from Ban Nicholas Hahót a confirmation of the charter of King Charles Robert from 1326 on the area of the districts of Moravče and Glavnica, on which the rights were claimed by the castle warriors.
