Nematotaenia dispar (Schrank, 1782) (Figs. 4-7) This cestode is the single parasitic species in local amphibians with a high prevalence throughout the period of examination. Results of the examination of numerous whole mounts indicate a considerable infraspecific variability supporting Jones' (1987) observation, stated in his taxonomic revision of the family Nematotaeniidae. The number of the paruterin organs in the pregravid segments and the paruterin capsules in the gravid segments may vary 24-32 and 13-24, respectively. This species is broadly distributed in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, India and South East Asia. It was reported for the first time in Kuwait (2 fragments from Bufo sp.) by Jones (1987). 4 Lim Figs. 4-7.
