Material and methods We collected samples from the snail shells lying on the soil surface. Considering that the snail shells are to be found with a different frequency at the different habitats, the volume of the samples has been different at each habitat. Where it was applicable, we collected in each sample at least 100 snail shells selected at random. In the case of some bigger habitats, we collected more samples, Table 1.
