Andrikovics, S.; Hadnagy, T.: Ecological evaluation of aquatic invertebrates distribution of Apátkút Creek (Visegrádi Mountain, Hungary) in winter

Description of sampling sites and collecting dates The creek is situated in the Visegrád Mountain. It runs 9 kilometres towards the north-northeast and then it flows into the River Danube at 1695 riverkilometre, at Visegrád. Its fall is 250 metres, it has a gradient of 2.73%. It is probably of Old-Pleistocene age. The Visegrád Mountain is mainly from andésite containing SÍO2 in 57.5-62.3%, so the amount of silicon in the creek is bigger than in limestone-streams and the amount of Ca" 1 " 1 " is naturally smaller. The bottom is formed of andesite-gravels and breccias, the creek-flow is accompanied by agglomerate, tuff and lavarocks. Silt and sand deposits can be found on the gently sloping and moderate flowing Fig. 1. Map of Apátkút Creek with the sampling sites
