found to possess a morphological pecularity on the 5th leg, this phenomenon deserves further research. Kiefer (1978) thinks E. velox does not show greater morphological variability, but it cannot be excluded that the species is differentiated physiologically. We think that our new record of E. velox also urges a thorough revision of the Eurytemora species.
