MISCELLANEA ZOOLOGICA HUNGARICA ABSTRACT. The catalogue contains a) a numbered chronological list of papers in which DADAY dealt with taxa that he described, together with an inventory of all of DADAY's taxa in each paper; b) a numbered alphabetical list of the taxa DADAY described, keyed to the particular papers of the former list, together with reference from the literature indicating the present status of each taxon; and c) a list of all DADAY's Ostracoda material deposited in the Hungarian Natural History Museum, including 75 taxa described by DADAY. KEY WORDS: E. Daday, Ostracoda, taxonomy, pertinent material E. DADAY (1855-1920) worked on the systematics of nearly all groups of aquatic microfauna during his scientific career of over 40 years. About half of his works are studies on Crustacea, mostly on microcrustaceans. The catalogues of the Cladocera, Anostraca andConchostraca, and Copepoda taxa and collection of DADAY have already been published (FORRÓ and FREY, 1982; FORRÓ and BRTEK, 1984; FORRÓ and DUSSART, 1985), this paper is aimed at publishing the Ostracoda taxa and collection of his. This paper represents a catalogue of the ostracod taxa DADAY described and what specimens from his original material are extant. We hope this catalogue will provide an incentive as well as a tool for Ostracoda specialists to undertake a study of this group. The catalogue is divided into three parts: 1) a numbered chronological list of papers in which DADAY either described new taxa or referred t o those he had described earlier, together with an inventory of all DADAY's taxa in each paper, 2) a numbered alphabetical list of taxa DADAY described, keyed to the particular papers in which they are described or mentioned, together with a reference from the literature indicating the present status of each taxon, and 3) a list of all DADAY's Ostracoda in the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Table 1 is a chronological list of papers by DADAY in which he either described new ostracod taxa or referred to those he had described previously. A list of such taxa is given for each paper. Paper 1 containing the preliminary results of DADAY's researches on Lake Balaton was written in Hungarian giving also descriptions of three new ostracod taxa. The final version was published in Papers 4 and 5, in Hungarian sind German. Paper 13 contains equivalent Hungarian and German versions side by side in adjacent columns. Pairs 7/8, 16/17 and 19/20 were published in the same year but in different journals. Pairs 2/3, 11/12 and 25/26 were published in different years and in different journals which must be taken into consideration in establishing date of authorship. This is by no means a complete list of DADAY's papers dealing with Ostracoda but only those that include taxa he described. Tom us 4. 1987 p. 33-63 (Received December 10, 1986)
