DADAY studied the material of several foreign collectors, thus it is highly possible that there are materials of taxa DADAY described in several European museums, particularly in Germany. The Copepoda collection in Budapest is divided into two parts: alcoholic (294 tubes) and mounted specimens (370 slides). It includes material of 47 taxa described by DADAY. Unfortunately, many slides are in poor condition. The material has been registered in either of several ways. One type of registering was made by DADAY, but a considerable part of the collection which was purchased by the Hungarian Natural History Museum was numbered in a different fashion by E. DUDICH, curator of the collection at that time, and finally some of the material had not been given definite registration numbers at all. In preparation of the catalogue first the name of the taxon and that of the author is given as labelled by DADAY, then follows the current valid name of the taxon. The phrase "manuscript name" was used to indicate unpublished names. The following item is the number of slides, tubes and specimens contained, after these the localities are listed according to the labelling of DADAY. Hungarian localities are indicated by "H" to separate them from those of other countries. This indication was used for localities of Hungary belonging to the period of DADAY. The differences in registering mentioned above necessitated the introduction of a new, uniform registering of the whole material. Both types of registering are given, the former numbers indicated by "D" and after semicolon followed the new numbers. The whole string of numbers are enclosed in parentheses.
