Table 1 is a numbered, chronological list of papers by DADAY in which he either describes new cladoceran taxa or else refers to those he had described previously. An inventory of such taxa is given for each paper. This is the first time Paper 4 has been mentioned in the literature. Its text is almost identical to Paper 3 but it contains 12 figures, including one of Pleuroxus bala- tonicus. In eight instances the same study is published both in Hungarian and German, although usually not in strictly equivalent versions. Paper 18 contains equivalent Hungarian and German versions side by side in adjacent columns. Pairs 9/10 and 35/36 were published in the same year in the same journal, the Hungarian version in each case appearing first. Pairs 13/14, 24/25, and 27/28 were published in the same year but in different journals. Pairs 15/16 and 32/33 were published in different years and in different journals, which must be taken into consideration in establishing date of authorship. In the larger papers published in 1898 and subsequently, generally the German version is the primary one, with full descriptions and illustrations. This is by no means a complete list of DADAY' s papers concerned with Cladocera but only of those that include taxa he described. Taxa for which specimens from the original samples are represented in the collection are indicated by an asterisk (x). Most of these have had lectotypes designated (see Table 3). Table 1.
