Ez korunk egyik leg gyakoribb betegsége. Kialakulá­sában a bőséges és zsíros táplál­kozásnak s vele kapcsolatosan a vér nagy koleszterintartalmának és a testsúlynövekedésnek van sze­repe. De nem hagyhatjuk figyel­men kivtil az idegrendszer hirte­len megterhelését okozó stressz­hatásokat és azt az életmódot. Il­letőleg azokat a munkakörülmé­nyeket sem, amelyekről az aláb­biakban szólunk. Az életmódban és a munkakö­rülményekben századunk és külö­nösen a legutóbbi évtizedek jelen­tős változást idéztek elő. A freiburgl Vérkerlngéskutató Intézetben végzett felmérések sze­rint napjainkban már alig akad olyan szakma, amelyben a mun­kásnak nagyobb testi erőkifejtés­re van alkalma. A modern társa­dalomban az embernek elsősor­ban a figyelme, az idegrendszere dolgozik, mig az izomzata jobbára pihen. Pedig... Az orvosi statisztika szakembe­rei évek óta figyelik az élet- és munkakörülmények változásának egészségügyi hatását, és nagyon megszívlelendő következtetésekre jutottak. Megállapították például, hogy a kevés mozgás és a fizikai munkának a hiánya határozottan segiti a szívinfarktus keletkezé­sét! Londonban 31 ezer autóbuszve­zetőt és kalauzt éveken át vizs­gálva kiderült, hogy az egy hely­ben ülő, de erősen igénybe vett Idegrendszerű vezetők körében a szívinfarktus miatti halálozás két­szer olyan gyakori volt, mint azok között a kalauzok között, akik a londoni emeletes autóbuszokon na­ponta több százszor mentek fel és le a lépcsőn jegyet kezelni. Bár az autóvezetők „stressze” önma­gában is szívinfarktust okozó té­nyező, a jelen esetben nem ez, hanem a mozdulatlanságra való kárhoztatottság volt a többletha­lálozás oka. Ennek bizonyítására összehasonlító vizsgálatokat is vé­geztek százezer postaalkalmazott bevonásával. Ezek egy része „eme­letjáró” levélkézbesitő volt, más ! részük postahivatalban dolgozó, jobbára ülőmunkát végző, keveset mozgó tisztviselő. A tisztviselők között ebben az esetben is két­szer annyi szívinfarktus követke­zett be, mint a jelentős fizikai megterheléssel birkózó kézbesítők körében. Az is ismeretes, hogy a rend­szeresen sportolók között negyed­annyi szívinfarktus fordul elő, mint a nem sportolók körében. Itt persze nem a versenyszerűen spor­tolókat. a „rekordereket” vették figyelembe, hiszen öközöttük gya­koriak a fizikai, sőt az idegrend­szeri megterhelésüek is, hanem az „amatőröket”, akik évtizedeken át többé-kevésbé rendszeresen atleti­­záltak, tornáztak, vívtak, teni­szeztek vagy turistáskodtak. Kü­lönösen előnyösek a szívinfarktus megelőzésében a vizisportok: az úszás és az evezés, noha ennek a magyarázatát még nem tudjuk. A vérkeringés szerveinek — a szívnek és az érrendszernek — az a rendeltetésük, hogy az anyag­cseréhez szükséges anyagokat szer­vezetünk valamennyi sejtjéhez el­juttassák. Ezt a feladatot azon­ban nemcsak a nyugalomban levő testben lehet ellátni! A sziv és az érrendszer képes reá, hogy telje­sen ellássa ezt a feladatot fizikai erőkifejtés esetén is*. Sőt, ha idő­ről időre nem vesszük igénybe a szivünket és keringési rendszerün­ket, ha tehát esek nincsenek meg­felelő „tréningében, egy idő múl­tán sorvadni kezdenek, és többé nem lesznek képesek mindenben megfelelni eredeti rendeltetésük­nek. És egyre nagyobb lesz a ve­szélye annak, hogy a szívizomban károk keletkeznek, és hogy a szlv­­izominfarktus bekövetkezik. Noha kétségtelen, hogy minden­napi életünk üteme meggyorsult, és a „rohanás” általános jelenség­gé vált, az is bizonyos, hogy ez nem fizikailag terheli meg az em­bereket. Pedig a szív és az érrend­szer egészsége érdekében többet kell mozognunk! Ezért a városok­ban lakó embereknek ajánlatos rendszeresen sportolniuk, ha pe­dig ez nem valósítható meg, na­ponta legalább egy órát járniuk vagy sétálniuk kellene.
