Contributions to the study of spontaneous vascular plants from „Cämpia Transilvaniei” (Mures county) Fig. 4: Floristical elements of flora in Transylvanian Plain In the karyological spectrum of cormoflora in the Transylvanian Plain (Fig. 5), diploid species are predominant (47.49%) over the polyploid ones (39.80%). Some species are diplo­­polyploid (6.84%), and for 42 species (5.87%) we did not have karyological information. The large number of diploids in this area, which forms the basis of allopolyploid speci­­ation, demonstrates the age of this flora, which provides a favorable genetic potential for future plant evolution. On these old groups, new ones have developed, richer in polyploids, hence their high frequency. 15
