Valorising museum heritage with temporary exhibitions of Natural Sciences Department of Mures County Museum, 2013 mammals and 20 species of plants, the latter presented as auxiliary exhibits - posters. The plants presentation in the form of posters was chosen because it seemed more suggestive as a theme, more attractive to the public and more suitable for the museum’s pedagogical activities. Since our department currently has no specialists in zoology, we turned to the support of external collaborators, friends of the museum: Mrs. Florentina Togänel, researcher, Head of Department at the Department of Natural Sciences at the Mure§ County Museum, retired, who answered to our request to assist us with outstanding scientific expertise in the field of entomology then, Museum of Oltenia, represented by Dr. Mirela Ridiche, expert in ornithology and Dr. Olivia Cioboiu, expert in malacology, who referenced scientific information on the birds and mollusks exposed. We also enjoyed remarkable involvement of specialists from “Animal World” in Tárgu- Murej, who displayed some pairs of living animals in the exhibition, turning the opening into a real show. We thank, in this way, Mr. Corneliu - Dórin Oltean, engineer, administrator at SC Dorpex Impex SRL, Tirgu-Mure§ and “Animal World” (Fig. 5). The editorial component consisted in making a banner, invitations, posters to popularise the event and explanatory leaflets (Fig. 4). The exhibition was open to the large public. The exhibition was visited by over 8000 people by the end of 2013. Then, for the Museum Night on May 18, 2013, a temporary collection exhibition “From the World of Mushrooms” was opened in collaboration with the Society of Mycology “Málnássy László” fromTärgu-Mure§. The objectives of the Museum were capitalizing macromycetes exhibition of museum collections, supplementing the exhibition base of the Department of Natural Sciences with new scientific information; highlighting the assets of the museum’s heritage and the results of studies in the field; attracting public’s attention to the need to protect the creatures, and the therapeutic effects of mushrooms; encouraging the consumption of fresh mushrooms from the wild, provided that they be checked by authorized inspectors, and familiarising the public with information on macromycetes. Ten authentic exhibits were brought to public attention, 10 species of macromycetes purchased from the “Málnássy László” Society of Mycology from Targu-Mure§, some with therapeutic properties, others beautifully and diversely colored (to illustrate the variability of color in the world of fungi), and about 50 auxiliary exhibits, i.e. 50 artistic photos of macromycetes made in nature by members of the “Málnássy László” Society of Mycology fromTirgu-Mure§, and by various contributors. We point out that some of these photographs were awarded in different competitions of mycology. Likewise, it was displayed bibliographic material regarding the macromycetes.
