VALORISING MUSEUM HERITAGE WITH TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS OF NATURAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF MURE§ COUNTY MUSEUM, 2013 Daniela-Ramona BOTO§ Muzeul de §tiin{ele Naturii Targu-Mure$, Str. Horea nr. 24, RO-540036 Targu-Murej Abstract: The department of Natural Sciences of the County Museum held, at its premises at no. 24, Horea Street, and at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Tärgu-Muref, five thematic and collection temporary exhibitions on various cultural events included in the Plan of Activities of the Museum for 2013. All these exhibits were entered into the cycle of capitalization of the rich and precious exhibition heritage of the Museum, totaling about 70.000 pieces. The Museum used 86 of mobile cultural assets in the five temporary exhibitions of 2013 (Annexl). We hope that we were able to offer the visitors and participants in cultural activities undertaken by the Museum the opportunity to develop personally, to relax, to have fun, to conduct special activities different from the day-to-day ones. We have also successfully achieved the objective of the museum which was to attract new audience by creating the temporary exhibition “The world of plants in cosmetics” in collaboration with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy ofTargu-Mure?. Keywords: temporay exhibitions, museums patrimony Introduction The exhibition is the most important way to enhance the museum heritage while at the same time representing the main form of cultural-educational manifestation of the museum, characteristic to this institution. The museum exhibition is a form of rendering complex and specialized information, using as a means of communication the ordered display of objects and images [2]. The department of Natural Sciences within Mure§ County Museum holds valuable collections of fossils, minerals, rocks, plants, fungi, invertebrates (snails, clams and insects), birds, eggs, mammals and hunting trophies, totaling about 70.000 pieces. Some oi the pieces that make up the scientific collections are on display in the main exhibition of the museum, another part is displayed in temporary exhibitions on various topics, organized every year and most are preserved in the museum’s scientific storages, constituting a real biodocumentaries archive.
