THE MEMORIES OF AN OLD ROMA MAN, NAMED BURI, ABOUT SAXON FROM MERGHINDEAL, SIBIU COUNTY

The paper presents an interview with an old Roma man, Cäldärar Victor, nicknamed Buri, from an old Saxon village, about the relations between Roma people and Saxon before the departure of the last from Romania.

After a short presentation of the village history and the historical reality about the loss of houses and properties for the Saxon people at the end of the second World War, follows the interview with Buri. Everybody knows today that, after the Saxon departure, the customs were continued by Romanian and Roma people, but their houses were not so good preserved.

The interview with Buri is centered on the relations between Roma people and Saxon before and after their departure in Germany and on the old social Saxon institution, the neighborhood.
