NEW DATA ABOUT (COLEOPTERA: SCARABAEOIDEA: SCARABAEIDAE) FROM THE CONTINENTAL ZONE OF DOBROGEA Petru Vasile ISTRATE Colegiul National “Alexandru Papiu Ilarian” Tärgu-Mures, str. Bernady György nr. 12, RO-540072 Tärgu-Murej, Romania Abstract: This work wants to bring a substantial contribution to the effort of studying the coleopteras from the subfamily Cetoniinae from the continental zone of Dobrogea. The author made in this purpose two journeys of collecting at the end of May and middle of June 2010 in Dobrogea, collecting with the aid of arboreal traps and directly, after observation on field lots of coleopteras including cetoniinae. After the effort of collecting, proceeded in Mäcin Mountain, Babadag plateau and Oltinei plateau, a rich material had been collected made from 305 individuals wich belong to 8 species. From these, Cetonischema aeruginosa, Eupotosia fieberi and Eupotosia affinis had been collected only in traps, speaking of ecogeographic arboreal elements, with a doubtless preference for tall arboreal canopy, in this case oak. They emigrated during the forest penetration, in the humid subperiod of the postglacial period [7]. From the rest of 5 species, Netocia hungarica and Netocia vidua had been collected only directly, from the stalks and inflorescences of plants, being eremial elements, immigrated once with the expansion of prairie. The Netocia vidua species reaches in Mäcinului mountain the most Nordic point of its spreading complex. In the project are reported numerous forms of color, aberrations at Cetonia aurata, Potosia cuprea cuprina and one at Cetonischema aeruginosa. The distribution of cetoniinae species in every trap and then in general, on whole set of traps is presented, observing the predominant of south elements, of Balkan and Mediterranean origin in the collecting point of Oltinei plateau. Keywords: cetoniinae, collecting, arboreal traps. Introduction This work represents the result of collectings in Dobrogea in summer 2010, when with the opportunity of two investigations had been collected lots of coleopteras, including a rich material containing cetoniinae. The aim of the investigations was to bring new data about the dobrogean fauna of coleopteras from Cetoniinae subfamily. The few works published until now give us a brief image about them. There are reported very few collecting points and the considerations about color variations and the waist of the insects or their habitat are also very few. Better known is the Entomofauna near the shore, of course because of the relatively easy acces along the coast of Black Sea. In the interior zone, Dobrogea, with few exceptions remain unknown. Cetoniins are coleoptera insects of medium and big waist. Some of the exotic african species, ex. Goliathus goliathus and Goliathus regius, are one of the biggest coleopteras ever known, with total length of body up to 113 mm. M A R 1 S I A, XXIX-XXX, p. 95-104
