Observations and field researches were conducted from 2003 to 2010, during the plants vegetation period. The types of grasslands were identified, and within these, several phytosociological surveys were carried out, following the Braun-Blanquet method [5, 6]. Sample areas were selected so as to include altitudinal variations that exist within the territory. Determination of species was done on the field and in laboratory, based on the collected material, especially for difficult to identify taxa, using Flora Romania [23]. Nomenclature of species is consistent with Flora Europaea [24, 25]. Syntaxonomic classification was based on consulting the most recent classification papers at European level [4,14,16,17] and also on synthetic works developed on the vegetation of Romania [1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 12, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22]. Results and discussion Habitats described distinguish themselves by a wealth of flora, important for preserving plant and animal diversity, some of which are recognized as key habitats for maintaining biodiversity in Europe. Some habitat types are coded according to Interpretation Manual of Natura 2000 Romanian habitats developed and printed in Romania under the PHARE project “Implementation of NATURA 2000 in Romania” [13] and the rest according to Habitats in Romania [10, 11]. Special attention was given to rare, vulnerable and endangered species in the National Red Lists [4, 18]. Molinio-Arrhenatheretea class includes mesohygrophilic and mesophilic phytocoenoses that grow in soils with variable moisture content and rich in nutrients. Some of the characteristic species of this class are: Festuca pratensis, Alopecurus pratensis, Prunella vulgaris, Ranunculus acris, Rumex acetosa, Stellaria graminea etc. They are used as a hayfield or pastures. Several plant associations of this class were identified, named according to applicable syntaxonomic indications.
