48 В. Rezi is repeated in the description as well as in the illustrative material.14 Cataloguing and analyzing the socketed-hammers from Romania Fl. Gogältan sets correctly the object from Falbükk in the list of the isolated finds.15 Instead B. Wanzek believes that is part of the hoard, dating it in the HaB3 period.16 Description of the objects 1. Socketed axe (PL 2/1), with small dimensions, with a straight and relative pronounced thickened rim, with the two margins slightly curved until the cutting edge. The blade has a trapeze form, with a widened and curved cutting edge, rounded at the corners. Under the rim and on both sides of the axe there are three horizontal ribs, which slowly fade under the attachment loop and on the opposite margin, where a vertical strengthening rib extends from the rim almost to the corner of the cutting edge. Under the three horizontal ribs, on both sides of the axe, a Y formed decoration appears, which is flanked by two slightly curved ribs on both sides. This ribbing decoration ends at the upper side of the blade, where it is separated by a horizontal deepened ridge. The bronze piece is very carefully manufactured, almost without any mould marks, with slightly visible casting ridges under the attachment loop. There are very few wear and tear marks on the cutting edge, which is blunt (PI. 4/la-b). It has a light green patina, preserved evenly on the whole surface of the artefact. Dimensions: L: 7.1 cm; 1: 2.7 cm; ledgc: 4.3 cm; w: 100 g. Seckler National Museum, inv. nr. 16553. 2. Socketed axe (PI. 2/2), similar with the first piece, with broken attachment loop, with the two margins stretching almost parallel to the blade, which is slightly widened and curved. The rim lightly grows thinner at the margins, under which it is strengthened with a rib, which extends on the whole circumference of the artefact. Under this, on both sides of the axe, a deepened rectangular form was realized, which stretches to the attachment loop. In this area on one side of the axe a Y shaped ribbing decoration appears, flanked by two slightly curved ribs on both sides, one of them longer, the other one shorter. On the opposite side of the axe this decoration is badly visible, and indescribable due to the corrosion which affected the artefact. The rim of the axe is badly casted, one of its sides received lesser bronze, which lead to an asymmetric placement of the two sides. The corrosion was removed during the restoration, which on the other hand lead to tiny milimetrical cavities on the surface of the piece (PI. 4/2a). There can also be separated tiny cavities which resulted from a poor casting, and from the presence of the air bubbles within the mould. The cutting edge is sharpened, but has slight wear and tear marks (PL 4/2c). The fragmentation of the attachment loop is most probable prehistoric. Dimensions: L: 7.7 cm; 1: 2.9 cm; ledge: 3.6 cm; w: 128 g. Mure? County Museum, without inv. nr. 3. Socketed axe (PL 2/3), with small dimensions, with a relative large and thickened attachment loop, with a straight rim, which is strengthened with a rib, under which other three horizontal ribs are present. The axe has a slim body, with the margins slightly curved, with a widened cutting edge, slightly bent and rounded at the corners. Starting from the corners of the cutting edge and ending right under the three horizontal ribs, on both sides of the artefact an arch decoration in relief was realized. The cutting edge is blunt, with slight wear and tear marks (PL 4/3b, d). On the blade light interventions with a hammer can also be identified. It is a carefully manufactured artefact, with the casting ridges being visible only on the rim of the axe. In the area of the attachment loop, and on the opposite side, this rim is fragmentary (PL 4/3a). As a result of the restoration process tiny milimetrical cavities are visible on both sides of the axe (PL 4/3c). It doesn’t have any patina, unfortunately being totally “cleaned” by the restaurateurs. Dimensions: L: 7.6 cm; L 2.6 cm; ledge: 3.4 cm; w: 104 g. Mure? County Museum, without inv. nr. 14 Lazár 1998, 70/80, pl. XLIV/5 (instead of 6). 15 Gogältan 2002, 20, nr. 37; Gogältan 2005, 356, nr. 37. 16 Wanzek 1992, 267, Liste 4a, Nr. 6.
