Gál Szilárd Sándor: Anthropological Study of the Medieval Cemetery from Adămuş Morfo-taxonomical Measurements of the Osteological Material

214 Gál Szilárd Sándor Results of the analysis The anthropological representation of the population is relatively good. I was able to take morpho-taxonomical measurements on postcranian bones. Teeth are in good condition. I didn’t find any marks of periodontosis or prognathia alveolaris. The answers for this situation are the age, dental decease appears at Juvenis and Adult ages. I didn’t find pathological cases, children died at the age of 4-5 because of epidemic diseases, but in Medieval Ages the high child mortality is typical. Children died after birth and also around the age of 4-5 years (statistics of Medieval Age cemeteries - after Éry and Nemeskéri). In one case I discovered an epigenetic characteristic: irregular eruption of teeth (II and C). The stature of children is in correlation with the age. In one case I could measure the stature of an adult male: 166.46 cm. The robust bones and relatively small stature is typical for Centre-East Transylvania in Medieval and Modern Ages (for example the Modern Age cemetery from Avrame§ti, Harghita County, under analisys).
