Finally, the Christian objects are a category of its own, because they belong to a universal religion which goes over ethnic barriers. The presence of a Christian object in funerary context does not contribute to a clear ethnic and religious assignment. But due to the massive presence of some objects with precise Christian destination in the local production (i.e. the cross moulds in Moldova), where we have no migratory elements, we may presume the existence of a certain group of population who demanded such objects (and we may presume also that they were aware of their religious importance). Artefacts and ethnic groups are the two confusing coordinates of an age of profound transformations, the 4th-5th centuries, an age in which we may have clear ethnic assignments only if we colligate the data obtained from the field with the historiographer's description.
