Etnografie 73 THE PEASANT MEN SHIRT COLLECTION OF THE ETHNOGRAPHY AND FOLK ART MUSEUM, TÁRGU MURES- Summary -The ethnographic phenomena, like others social phenomena, are in a continuous changes, they cross new steps in its evolution. The Romanian folk costume, from a material and spiritual point of view, as a dynamic ethnographic phenomenon, reflects some typical marks, fundamental for the historical process in general. As a folk art type, the folk costume expresses the ethnic and local specific, the life conception of a community or a nation, the economic and social status, the cultural interferences. The image that we made about the peasant costume is a result of approaching from varies aspects: functional, esthetic, semantic, considering the share of each aspect in a certain community at one time. The study analysis every pieces of the folk costume as a part of the whole peasant costume wear in the Mures county ethnographical areas. From these reasons, the peasant men shirt is analyzed like a sort of an ethnographic object. It is studied the raw material, the cut type, the spreading in the ethnographical zones and the decorative and ornamental peculiarity. The peasant men shirt collection, besides the others collections that constitute the traditional folk costume from ethnographical areas of Mures county, has a remarkable value. By its acquiring, preservation and restoration, storing, filing and valorization it was enriched our local patrimony and also the national one with some remarkable pieces.
