Restaurare, Conservare, patrimoniu

Etnografie 471 THE MURAL ENSEMBLE OF "THE ANNUNCIACION" CHURCH FROM CÄCUCI, VALEA BEICII The dismantled ensemble of Cacuci -Valea Beicii presents valuable painted scenes in distempera technique on wood. The church was built in the middle of XVIII th century, and consecrated as Greek-Catholic (uniate), although the artistic wiew is bysantine-orthodoxe. It has a carved inscription whith a date- "1757"on the beam of the entrance. The painter that had decorate it is Toader Popovici , which style is popular and one can identify also baroque influence. The history of the ensemble is quite harsh, both from historical and maintainance point of wiew. It was brougt by Aurel Filimon, who wanted to set up a spirituality museum, and there were short periods of partial exibition write as it was, in a deffective state of conservation. Unfortunately, because of the lack of financial support it was not restored, and after exhibition it was stored in inadequate conditions. In what concerns the conservation state, there are different dammages that affects its parts. The wooden support is attaked by the boring insects, it has humidity hallos and fissures, cracks, lacunar areas, nail hollows and so on. The paint layer presents degradations as follows: powdery and lacunar areas, humidity hallos, a semi-adherent layer of dust and dirt, wear traces and accidental scratches. The textile strips that linked together the wooden planks are lost, detached or rotten. Some parts are missing, e.g. one of two doors deacon intrances, and some small carved details. The article stresses out that the conservation-restoration process is vital, because of the defective preservation and the gradual deterioration, also claiming the rise of interest on such valuable artifacts.
