INCANTATIONS

FROM VILLAGE IBANESTI, MURES COUNTY, ROMANIA

Long been considered a taboo subject, however incantations be known as culture acts as Coatu Nicoleta says in his „magical traditional structures". The importance of incantations is clear indicated by Lucian Blaga statements that „magical thinking is required as a permanent human structure".

Simion FI. Marian since 1886 shows that in the linguistics „incantations are very precious in the linguistics [...] in the folk medicine [...] on mythology [...] the origin of the people [...] and even on religion".

In Ibane§ti, incantations authority is perpetuated because the force of tradition. Although remarkable progress has been made on raising the country's cultural level, in the middle of the twentieth century and early third millennium, however, the rural man believes strongly in the power of incantations and their healing power.

Therefore we encountered the following categories of spells:

1.Incantations for disease prevention, defense forces for the improvement of supernatural evil and animals;

2.Incantations for improvement of human health;

3.Love incantations.

I believe that there are other spells to Ibane§ti than those in the paper and above all, the people from Ibänesti will continue to address them in different situations.
