UN MORMÄNT DE ÍNHUMATIE DESCOPERIT LA CECÄLACA „LA TÄU” ANALIZÄ MORFO-TAXONOMICÄ GÁL SZILÁRD - CORALIA CRI§AN An Inhumation Tomb Discovered at Cecälaca - „La Täu” Morphological — Taxonomical Analysis (Abstract) In the first quadrate, as mentioned in the previous article, a human skeleton was discovered. The contour of the grave could not be traced, but the deceased appears to have lacked an inventory associated with the inhumation ritual. The metric and morphologic data point to a woman, 25 - 30 years old, 1,63 m -1,65 m in height. It was laid in a stretched position, hands along the body, slightly undergoing the basins’ bones. The skeleton is quite well preserved, except from some of the facial bones, some vertebras, ribs and small bones from the wrist and the left foot. The sex of the individual was determined through the Éry - Kralovanszky - Nemeskéri method, used in the Martin - Sailer system, based on the study of the skull and of the basin: angulus mandibulae presents an opening typical for the feminine sex, the frontal bone has also feminine features, the occipital bone with the occipitalis protuberance vaguely accentuated, a fact that points to the feminine sex as well. The stature of the deceased, based on the Martin-Hanáková method, based on the length of the femur and tibia (43 cm and respectively 34 cm) is of 1,63 - 1,65 m. It is interesting to notice that the surface of the long bones indicates certain features characteristic mostly to the masculine sex, more precisely the linea aspera from the tibia, which became prominent as a result of a continuous physical effort. The age was determined with the aid of the Nemeskéri - Harsányi - Acsádi method, in the Sjovoid system. The method is based on measurements of the femur, the teeth, and the humerus. The data thus obtained shows an age of 25 - 30 years. In what pathology is concerned, the only aspect that draws the attention is the already mentioned protuberance on both of the tibiae, appeared as a result of an excessive use of the legs (most of all the knees). There are no traces of infection on the bones. The death, in this case, was most probably due to some kind of natural shortlasting disease, at the age of 25-30. The individual had both masculine and feminine characteristics, but the feminine ones prevail. It was relatively tall for that period and had an occupation that involved a lot of walking or even running. Scheletul se pästreazä in cea mai mare parte, destul de bine conservat, exceptänd о parte a oaselor faciale, a unor vertebre, coaste §i oase mici din componenta incheieturii mainilor §i a oasele lábéi stángi. Vor fi enumerate oasele recuperate, grupate in zone determinante ale scheletului uman, dupä cum urmeazä: zona cranianä, zona toracicä, zona bazinului, membrele superioare §i respectiv inferioare. Ulterior, vor fi 81
