Aurelia Diaconescu, dr. Valer Pop: Similitudini între bisericile de lemn şi casa ţărănească tradiţională românească

SIMILITUDINI ÍNTRE BISERICI $1 CASA JÁRÁNEASCÁ 109 Similitudes between the Wooden Churches and the Traditional Rustic House by Diaconescu Aurelia and Valér Pop - summary -One must take into account the fact that the Romanian wooden churches are part of the vast domain of folk art. Consequently, they have the same characteristics as those of this field. These wooden churches stand for an ancient tradition in the art of building. They are the result of a collective or an anonymous work and they reflect the social and economic conditions throughout the ages. The similarity between the churches and the rustic houses stands in: the same raw material used for their building, the same techniques, a simple plan (adapted for the church), the identical decorations. Because of the possibility of being taken from one place to another, both the wooden churches and the traditional house had a very important part in the continuation of using wood when building. The result was a type of a unitary church on the Romanian territory.
