Aurelia Diaconescu, Dr. Valer Pop: Interiorul ţărănesc românesc din zona Târnavelor in contextul expoziţiei din Muzeul Mănăstirii Recea
64 AURELIA DIACONESCU, DR. VALÉR POP A TRADITIONAL TÁRNÁVÁ INTERIOR AT THE MUSEUM OF THE HOLY MONASTERY OF RECEA (Summary) In the traditional consciente of the Romanian peasant, home stands tor the sacred space where no stranger could break into without the owner’s consent. On its whole, the Romanians home has become a mocrocosmic center of their spiritual mystical and magical life reflecting the order of the entire universe. The home is the sacred place man is born the way his ancestors did, lives a life of hardships, of hopesand dreams and rich customs and traditions to finally die in there. So, man is fully connected ti his home by his ethnicaland spiritual roots. Home can be viewed as an original print of our people’origin, hence its suggestive name of „fatherly home“. There are other senses deriving from this original meaning; they are often difficult to define due to different interactions and ranks established among them. Starting from the dividing of the interior into a representative space - the dwelling place-we should focus on the elements equally connected to the social functions and the symbolic value of the home. Besides its documentary and artistic value, „The Traditional Intarior of the Tarnava Region“ exhibition at the Museum of the Holy Monastery of Recea makes all the visitors feel melancholic; as almost all villages are places where the Romanians were born and their memories of chilhood and old age are strong; as there is no otner treasure for them but their language, customs and traditions, literature and art, their belongings and folks. Every man gets nostalgic when being reminded of the places of his childhood and this is how this exhibition intends to make ist visitors feel like.
