THE QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE STUDY OF SMALL MAMMALS IN THE INFERIOURE AND MEDIUM COURSE OF TÁRNÁVÁ MICÄ RIVER WITH OBSERVATIONS ABOUT THE SPECIES ECOLOGY

Summary

Between 1981-1997 we accomplished a number of 189 (one hundred eightynine) trips-exits in the tableland of Tárnavelor and on this occasion, we cought a number of 515 (five hundred fifteen) species of small mammals belonging to 26 (twenty-six) species, to wich we should add another species observed, using the snop-traps or other methods (less).

The identification of such a raised number of small mammal species, situation (unpointed out) in the romanian litterature of the kind for such a restricted area linked with the variety of the echosistems that are here and that we have studied as well with the special methods imagined and used for catching species from Gliridae or Muridae familiy.

We consider that some of the forests from the examined area wich shelt important population of gliridae, such as: Bia forest and Village's Forest, both from the area of the village Vaidacuta and also as the Cerbäria forest near the village of Corne§ti can be pronounced areas of echological protection with the purpose of protecting the fauna and flora from here.
