In the first 50 years of existence of the industrial wood working in the town, the fundamental products were represented by the resinous sawn timber, then that of beech, progressing gradually, after the year 1920, to the finite products as: doors, windows, package, furniture, crafts, musical instruments, sports goods, etc. The first industrial units were driven hydraulically by the water of the Mures and the Gurghiu. In 1880 John Miil'ler’s Firm uses steam power in actioning the mill saws at Reghin, followed then, in 1888, at the Resinous Sawn Wood Factory Ierbu§, state property.
