,(nfiTT.. Gábor Várszegi SándorDemján Sándor Csányi Medget Rahimkulov In my mind I had a hard problem trying to figure out how those presently rich people made big lots of money. I get some letters from Hungary. People writing that they have a bad time trying to keep up with the basic expenses. Some people visit the country from here and more-or-less say the same thing. The political and economical changes in Hungary just happened a little more then a decade ago. So these figures mean that all this money accumulated in such a short time. Somehow the figures could change at a drop of a pin. To make a few billion Forints in a year is not uncommon. They say that the difficulty of figuring the right figure is because some money find their way to the somewere. Here in the U.S.A. we hear that some millionaire or billionaire have their money nicely tucked away in, par example, Borneo. It is a nice warm place to grow. After searching for pictures, I came across those at the top of the article. I don’t happen to know them. We don’t have dinner together. Nor do we bump into each other in some bank. I know many people on the other side find life to be very hard, but they sit down to dinner and they share with one and another. On the right end of the photos is a person whose name doesn’t sound Hungarian. It is Medget Rahimkulov. He is a Russian permanently living in Hungary and is the richest man in the country. Originally Russia’s GAZPROM was the owner of the Hungarian Általános Értékforgalmi Bank. Well, Mr. Rahimkulov purchased it from the Russian company. Below I happened to come across a listing of the richest Hungarians. Read it carefully. You might come across some relative or school mate. That would be interesting. One has to be careful because the numbers and place on the list change. Mr. Csányi on the list is the nineth, but as it turns out last year - in one year - he was able to add the amount of 60 Billion Forints to his wealth. One would think that these people are among the wealthiest in the world. No, they don’t even make the list in Europe. There is also an other interesting fact. In Russia and even in Poland there are manywho are higher on the list. Many of us should have stayed prisoner of war in Russia and live there under Stalin’s Communism. We shou;ld have waited for the time to come and get rich. It seems to go faster then if one starts out in a capitalist world. 1. GÁBOR VÁRSZEGI 40,0 Market, Sports investment 2.
