and in the lab and finally came to the conclusion that he could accomplish his goal with less energy by turning water into a plasma. He questioned this many times over and over. Finally in 1985 he applied for the patent. The German patent office with 650 scientists out of 3000 employees took a hold of it. They worked on it for seven years, first making fun of it, then they figured that there is nothing they could say against it. Count Zoltán Spanyol in November, 1992 received the patent, and it also covered 27 other countries. Looks like there was nothing to say against his invention. He complained about the bad situation of being an inventor. In Germany he noticed that they weren’t favorable toward a foreigner. With ease they put their hand on Imre Boros’ invention, paid him off and now they produce the equipment that was used in Kuwait to put out the oil fires. Also Béla Berényi had to go to court to claim that he designed the Volkswagen car, besides having 30 patents to go along with it. It would had meant a lot to the Hungarians had they produced the Volks wagon. Count Spanyol also talks about his experience with Hungary. It would be easy to sell out, but he wants the Hungarians to benefit from his invention. He is adamant about it. He talked, he wrote letters, he was on TV, on the radio, approached government. So what happened - ZILCH. He would like to produce automobiles with his engine, also modify foreign cars to be able to use his system. The Arabs also showed interest because they have plenty of saltwater, but have very little of water suitable for drinking. With this plasma system they would be able to have purified water for human consumption, also to water agricultural areas. There were American business people who sat down and discussed the invention and the process, also the investment. A Hungarian member of this group went to Hungary to speed up the process and finalize as much az possible. It seems like Grof Zoltán Spanyol wants the invention to be exclusively in the hands of Hungary. If you open up the internet, you could find a large amount of information. Nobody questions the fact that Grof Spanyol is a very smart and devoted person. Has a strong and nice character. In the discussions people, experts and others who just came by, say opposite things of how realistic this source of of energy is. I also tried to clear it up at least for myself. The most interesting remark I received from my friends in Hungary was:“If it works then probably, as usual, we will be left out of any benefits that might happen.” This doesn’t sound good, but covers previous matters that were promising. We haven’t touched big companies that might have somekind of an interest, good or bad, to find out what they would do. Hold on tight and hope that your car will run on pennies, your home will never be cold, and everybody will have good thoughts about the Hungarians. Lets hope. Joseph F. Balogh PLASMA BASICS Plasmas are a lot like gases, but the atoms are different because they are made up of free electrons and ions of the element. You don't find plasmas too often when you walk around. They aren't things that happen regularly on Earth. If you have ever heard of the Northern Lights or ball lightning, you might know that those are types of plasmas. It takes a very special environment to keep plasmas going. They are different and unique from the other states of matter. FINDING A PLASMA You won't find plasmas just anywhere. However, there may be some in front of you. Think about a fluorescent light bulb. They are not like regular light bulbs. Inside the long tube is a gas. Electricity flows through the tube when the light is turned on. The electricity acts as that special energy and charges up the gas. This charging and exciting of the atoms creates glowing plasma inside the bulb. You also see plasma when you look at stars. Stars are big balls of gases at really high temperatures. The high temperatures charge up the atoms and create plasma. Stars are another good example of how the temperature of plasmas can be very different. Fluorescent lights are cold compared to really hot stars. They are still both forms of plasma, even with different physical characteristics. JULIUS AND JOSEPH MAKE UP 180 YEARS CONGRATULATIONS Julius Varga and his buddy Joseph Stiber celebrating their birthday together. Holding hands they made it to 180 years , 90 on one side and 90 on the other side. Neither of then gave up being Hungarian, and doing as much as possible. Joe Stiber is well known to our readers, he take care of the Magyar News distribution. We wish them an other repeat of this celebration, they might need a bigger cake. Page 2
