THANKS BUDAPEST WATERWORKS The Tsunami opened the heart of many people trying to help. It is not just the individuals who lined up behind their countries’ efforts, or the charity organizations. The help comes from many big businesses and corporations. Hungary joined in the effort to help the Tsunami victims. I would like to single out one company, the Budapest Waterworks. They put together a package that is one of the most needed equipment and sent it to Sri Lanka. The MALÉV, Hungarian Airline, is taking the water purifying equipment weighing over seven tons, with the necessary vehicles, accessaries and naturally the crew to make it work. At this time one of the most important factor is the clean, healthy water. The Budapest Waterworks tested their equipment under bad circumstances with great success. It is to be hocked up the existing supply lines. The capacity of it on a daily base is to supply for a city of 50,000 residents. This purifying equipment could produce potable water from any sources except salt water. It is good to know that the Hungarian people, despite the many hardships, is reaching out with a helping hand. In the chaotic circumstances of the tragedy many numbers change. Some to the worst, some to the better. Fortunately the number of missing Hungarians was reduced to five people when everything was counted up Above left: At the Budapest Airport, the Ferihhegyi Repülőtér, the seven ton huge water purifier is waiting to be loaded on the MALÉV airplane. The MALÉV will transport it to Sri Lanka to help the victims of the Tsunami. Above: Servicing vehicles are also taken to use in servicing the water equipment.
