The "regular" picnic at the life of our church is a great opportunity for number of reasons. This is a great opportunity, among many, to build fellowship, raise funds for church expenses and invite friends and feed them with delicious Hungarian food. This year was again a gift from God so we could serve and help to build His temple. We had hurricane warning, concerns of our members' health, age and ability to work. But again, we had goodhearted man and women to put it altogether. This year we offered six different kind of food. Gulyas or Goulash soup, stuffed cabbage, pork roast, stuffed chicken, cabbage noodles and sausages/hotdog were on menu. Sure we had pastry table, coffee, watermelon and all kinds of refreshments in addition. We believe the food was excellent and those who missed the opportunity this time has to wait another year for our next picnic to enjoy such a food fiesta. The attendance was outstanding, we recalled people not just from neighboring towns like Norwalk or Bridgeport but some came from Wallingford and some from Hartford area. We had some distinguished guests, such as Rev. Albert Kovach and Rev. Francis Vitéz from NJ. Father Louis from St. Mary's church was also our guest. In total we had 400+ dishes served and at the end we ran out of food. Once all food was gone we had raffle to entertain our guests. We had numerous prizes, gift certificates, drinks, and Hungarian sausages, household appliances among other prizes. Thank you for all those who donated and for those who collected and organized it. While we ran out of raffle prizes and people started to head home, we had numerous volunteers from our guests to help us to clean up the yard and the kitchen. I want to thank their kindness to ease on our aging workforce. Lastly I want to express our thank you for all who came to make this a successful event. And last but not least, I want to thank for all our members and non-members who dedicated time, effort, work and money to make it all happen. Praise be to God and thank for all His people.
