This is what he said: Guest speaker Dr. Gábor Horváth, ambassador of the “Tisztelt honfitársaim, Hölgyeim és uraim, Nagy megtiszteltetés és öröm számomra, hogy ilyen nagy számban jöttek el nemzeti ünnepünk, március 15-e, az 1848-49 évi forradalom és szabadságharc 156. évfordulója közös megünneplésére. May I say without any doubt, that Hungary, and all Hungarians following the spirit of the spring 156 years ago, finally this spring arrived to the point of no return. Once and for all the spirit, enthusiasm, the ideals of the future established by the youth of March 15, 1848, by the politicians of the revolution, the program and the goals of the first independent Hungarian government, the struggle and sacrifice of the military leaders and the soldiers came to be realized today: Hungary and her people finally returned to Europe in an unreversible way. 14 years ago the Hungarian Nation started on the road fulfilling the inherited the inherited goals and spirits. The revolution with the dynamic power of freedom and independence, even though it was crushed, was determined to lead Hungary 156 years ago out of the Hapsburg Empire. Our people in their dreams saw the ideal of freedom and equality that self determination will bring. Republic of Hungary Not only did they dream it but they took action and put their life on the line, knowing the failings of previous attempts. This March of 156 years ago did not fail because the heroes and leaders did not run away, did not back off when surrounded by devastating powers from two sides. This braveness and the national standing together remained the bright star of the Hungarian soul for freedom. As the famous visionary poet, Sándor Petőfi, wrotef’The glorious Republic will be victorious,/ even if shy and earth throws an impediment.” And so it is. There is nothing to stop gaining freedom or Hungary. This inheritance that brightened the sky for all who fought for freedom in October 23, 1956, also for the mind and On the left, Éva Látrányi, solo soprano is with Valeria Mikolós, secretary of the Pannónia Club.
