-/-------------------------------------------------^ "Happiness " by American poet Carl Sandburg, 1916. "I asked the professors who teach the meaning of life to tell me what is happiness. And I went to famous executives who boss the work of thousands of men. They all shook their heads and gave me a smile as though I was trying to fool with them. And then one Sunday afternoon I wandered out along the Desplaines River. And I saw a crowd of Hungarians under the trees with their women and children and a keg of beer and an accordion." This, in a program was blasting through the TV while Jim and Sarah Lynch were putting around at home. Not paying too much attention to it but when it came to the hotdog then things changed. This is what Sarah had to say: “While fixing up things in the kitchen the noise of the TV was more of a nuisance than entertainment. Since it was about the “All American” things I lent one of my ears to listening. I am glad I did because the announcer mentioned the Hungarians. They explained that the hot dog was started in New York City by Russian immigrants. In Chicago on the other hand the Hungarians made it a national treat. Scanning through the many opinions the consumers found the hot dog made by the Hungarians far surpassed the New York counter part. It was the best and the tastiest of all.” What did they expect?
