Budapest Anno 1900 -The Golden Era The Hungarian Cultural Society of Connecticut /HCSC/ will hold its fundraising Gala on SEPTEMBER 30th. 2001 at the Italian Center in Stamford, CT. Thematically, the Gala will recreate the atmosphere of Budapest of the early 1900s; it will recall the architecture , fashion and music of the Hungarian Capitol of the "Golden Era." Ms. Katalin Zsernberi, a talented young soprano from Hungary will sing appropriate musical selections . Maestro Zoltán Zorandy, a renowned pianist-composer, will also be featured. Mr. Zorandy's Orchestra will provide the musical background. The dinner will be based on the menu of the world-famous Gundel Restaurant of Budapest. Proceeds of the function will be used to provide aid for the Hungarian orphans and orphanages of Transylvania in Rumania. In addition, we plan to continue our annual contribution to the operating expenses of the historical Teleki-Bolyai Library of Marosvasarhely /Tirgu-Mures/. We are requesting tax-deductible conrtibutions . We invite all of you to attend the fund-raising Gala on September 30th. Dinners will be available. They will serve: Chicken Paprikás, Stuffed Cabbage and Hungarian pastries. Cookbooks, noodles and Hungarian embroidery will be for sale. Admission is free.
