In Connecticut the Hungarian spring ball that is organized by the Pannónia Club is called “Cafe Budapest”. This year it was the 49th. Unofficially it is also called the Debutant Ball because this is the time when the young ladies and their escorts are introduced to the community. It is a most pleasant event. Members of the Pannónia Club put this event together with hard work and devotion throughout the year. At the Dance House program the young people have the opportunity to get familiar with traditional ballroom dancing, especially the Waltz and the Csárdás. Judith Balogh, President of the Club, and Agnes Réthy, Ball Chairman with the help of the officers, Olga Réthy,Valéria Miklós, Nelly Adámkovics, Zita Balogh, and naturally the Board of Directors always make sure that everybody has a good time. The choreography for the opening this time was designed and taught by Erika Géczy. As each couple entered, Balázs Somogyi, MC, introduced them. The escort presented a rose to his partner, the musicians played a short waltz and after a few turns they lined up with the others to be presented together.
