Below : In the course of the renovation work all the pews had to be removed, to give way for the scafolding, and later to make it possible to finish the floor. The photographs of the renovation are from the archive of St. Emery Church. The photographs of the previous stage were made by Steve Havery. TRICOLOR FROM HOME Recently, the United Church of Christ on North Ave. in Bridgeport celebrated the donation of a flag from Hungary. Joseph Erdos had his sister Elisabeth visiting from Hungary with her husband László Pásztor. They came from Rakamaz, Szabolcs megye carrying with them a hand-embroidered Hungarian flag that their son, László junior purchased in Budapest. The proud parents László and Elisabeth Pásztor are on the left, on the right are Joseph Erdos, brother of Elizabeth, his wife Maria and his son Joey. Rev Betsy Reed is standing behind the donated flag. This flag will replace an old one that through the many years has lost its original color. The congregation is very thankful to the Pásztor family for helping to keep up the Hungarian tradition in a church that is just a few years short of a Century.
