The Museum of The American Hungarian Foundation in New Brunswick has many events and exhibits. The picture to the right shows one of the original Mihály Munkácsy paintings, Christ in front of Pilot. Standing next to it are Patricia Fazekas, curator of the museum and Claudia Margitay-Balogh. At this time, till the middle of September a very interesting exhibit takes place. It is called : “Then and Now - Recent Museum Acquisitions of Art and Folk Art” SCHOLARSHIP The American Hungarian Heritage Association is announcing the Mary Katona Scholarship for the year 2001. To receive information send a self addressed stamped envelope to: A.H.H.A. 60 Tyrone Place Stratford, CT 06614 The scholarship is available for enrolled college students who live within a 50 mile radius to Bridgeport, and have Hungarian background. The application should be received with a two page essay by November 30. The awards will be given out at the beginning of January 2001. SEPTEMBER 10. SUNDAY RAIN DAY SEPTEMBER 24. The American Hungarian Heritage Association/AHHA) will have their SZA­LONNA SÜTÉS. As in every year it will take place on the grounds of tire United Church of Christ (2200 North Ave., Bridgeport, CT) starting at 2:00 PM. You will have a piece of szalonna on a stick, vegetables and coffee and soda. You bake pastries and share it with your friends. Donation $6.00. Reservation. CT. a music event will take place. GYPSY MAGIC, a program of music and song performed by Ernő Kállai Kiss and his 6 member orchestra of Budapest, featuring the popular soprano Zsuzsa Csonka. The 14 year old Kallai Kiss Junior who is a pro­­tegy violinist finishing first place in com­petition will also appear. Co-sponsored by the Hungarian organizations of the area, the AHHA, the Community Club in Wallingford, the Pannónia Club, and the HCSC. Tickets $15.00 advanced sales; $17.00 at the door.
