.PAr'J L>-FíAi!/U\ ®m©© agpo® Last December we were very happy to announce the Panorama Hungarian magazine. It started out as a weekly publication, then changed to by-weekly. After a few months it stopped because they didn’t have enough subscribers. A few weeks ago I received a new issue of the Panorama. It looked like the ones before. Same size, same number of pages, high qualitv production - and it is in Hungarian. The founder and editor-in-chief is the same, Dr. László Tanka. The basic differences are that it became the official paper of the the 100 year old organization, the Amerikai Magyar Szövetség (The American Hungarian Alliance) under the leadership of Miklós Kossányi. Kossányi is also the owner of the Hungarian TV program in New York. On the cover of the new issue we see President Clinton with an American General at his side. He is Major General Robert Iványi. Besides being a Hungarian, he also Saks Hungarian and his daughter was a utant at the MHBK Dinner Dance in Cleveland. She was part of the Palotás Dance performance. We wish success to the magazine, and continued good work to all who make it”s appearance possible. You may order the magazine by calling (212)828-0543. ‘/2 year $25.00; 1 year $49.00. Recently there were two names that we would like to acknowledge. Both of them spent their life volunteering in the Hungarian community, helping to keep up our traditions and culture. Helen Fazekas was a member of the American Hungarian Heritage Association (AHHA), formerly The Hungarian Graduate Committee of the Halsey International Scholarship Program at the University of Bridgeport. For many years she served on the Executive Board. Ferenc Kiss after he arrived to the United States became a member of the Pannónia American Hungarian Club. Throughout the rest of his life he served on the Board of Directors, as an officer and as president of the Club. He and his family were constantly promoting the Hungarian heritage and with unprecedented enthusiasm worked for this noble cause. We thank them for all they did, for their leadership, we pray for their souls . May God’s blessing be with them. Page 8 Your advertising is a contribution to the Hungarian community PETER A.
