with Kálmán Jónás we find Enikő Fábián Jónás who also teaches the dances. The audience is always appreciative to see them on the stage. The celebration started with Fr. Andor Rakaczki’s invocation prayer. The guestspeaker was Dr. Balázs Somogyi, president of H.C.S.C. In his speech he gave a broad perspective on the spirit of the day. He outlined what our obligation is towards the Hungarian people. Also he gave account of what our organizations in this area have done, the nature and size of the support of the help we gave specially to those Hungarian populations that are in a disadvantaged situation as minorities in a less At the right: The audience waiting for the celebration to start. There is nothing wrong with this. It is the March 15 that lacks the proper judgement and the respect to our ancestors. It was a great joy to see a new generation lead the way at this Ide of March. Children from our area got together and with the leadership of Enikő Fábián Jónás performed for the event. Besides the program they did, there was something that nobody could have missed. They had Hungarian text in their hand and these children were reading it. Here is a list of the children: András Máthé, Viktoria Máthé, Kristina Serfözö, Krisztina Aranyi, Krisztina Póznán, Attila Póznán, László Magyar, Gabriella Magyar, and Abigél Balogh. We also saw the dancegroup perform the Palotás. The dancers were: Agnes Réthy, Christopher Linch, Abigél Balogh, Géza Kovács, Margit Kacsó, Vinicayi Tibor, and Master of Ceremonies Joseph F. Balogh FOTO ADAMKOVICS friendly country. Naturally the traditional poem of Sándor Petőfi, the Talpra Magyar, was performed by Csaba Rátkai in his special style that touches the heart and the mind. The children’s performance was enriched by a selection of music. Also, Rev. Poznan’s wife, Julianna, on the piano lead the singing of the National Anthem and the Kossuth songs. It seems as if we Hungarians are sort of entertaining musicians. With Rózsika away it was hard to find somebody to give live performance. Fortunately there is a Hungarian restaurant in Fairfield. A piano player who alternates there with Rózsika is Igor Paszternák. He was kind to play classical pieces on Hungarian music. As we know, our audience would always like to hear some “hallgató” or a “csárdás” also. The MC of this celebration was Joseph Balogh. At the end he thanked all the performers for their spirited work, also the members of the Pannónia American Hungarian Club who organize these events. He invited everybody to the reception to enjoy the coffee and the pastries. His last words were:”May God bless every Hungarian!” Available for cultural and social events.
