PEARL manner that the extended family can work through love and respect. Her family also included her “support group.” This extension included people who were taking chemotherapy and met monthly to express their fears, hurts, and hopes. Pearl’s love of life breathed a breath of laughter and joy. and her will to live each moment was a precious lesson to all. It was in the same spirit that Pearl provided trips to places. She would get people out of their houses and together, they would feel the essence of family as they travelled in a group. May each of us not just shed a tear, but be renewed in the realization that each day must be appreciated to the fullest because we had a lovely teacher in Pearl to show us the way. REV. BELA POZNAN REMEMBERS “As for me, I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and my departure has come. 1 have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, 1 have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing. Amen. ” Pearl Maraczi was an extraordinary women. She was a Servant of God. Her ministry among us was music in general but particularly church music. As an organist of the Calvin United Church of Christ she served faithfully 55 years. She served with music in our church as well in the St. Emery Roman Catholic Church, in the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church and so on. The time of her departure came after a 3 year long illness on June 25 1997, Wednesday around 11 o'clock when her close family were around her bed in the Bridgeport Hospital. For many days and nights they kept vigil around her, praying and supporting her before her departure. After we had prayed for her and I had given her the blessing, she breathed her last in her earthly life. Her life was like a thanks offering to Members of the Hungarian United Church of Christ on North Avenue in Bridgeport decided to join in the festivities since the parade started right there. They set up refreshment tables and decorated the area with banners and colorful balloons. The volunteers went around in the gathering crowd with chilled bottled water and other thirst quenching goodies. The heat was hard to handle but the enthusiasm was high. This participation was a nice, successful thought. God. I have an image of our Pearl life in the past years, like a little injured bird, eager to fly but sometime she needed to rest. The time of her complete rest came. She fought the good fight not against other people but for the people. She fought the good fight of faith with hope and love. She finished the race completely, and faithfully until death. Even the past Sunday we sang the hymns which she had selected for our worship service. She kept the faith in God, through Jesus Christ. She hoped for the reserved and promised crown of life. My God grant her salvation according her faith. From grace to glory fly faith will be your wings, To the glory of heaven The Lord will welcome indeed Your call and mission is completed O traveler you reached the shore Your hope will be salvation through faith heaven is yours. •••• .'.■.■.v.v.v.v.v.V. ««««««pWO HUNGARIAN COMMUNITY CLUB 147 Ward St .
