The American Hungarian Heritage Association - weather permitting - makes it an annual event. At two o’clock on the Sunday afternoon people started to gather on the grounds of the Bessemer Center just as the shadow of the building spread the comforting coolness. As more and more people kept arriving the need for more fire arouse. Finally three firepits were at frill blast and were taken over by experts and novices. Parents brought along hot dogs and hamburgers for the children but most of it was taken back home. The children demanded the bread with szalonna and the vegetables, and they wanted to do their own roasting. This might be a tradition that finds it way through the stomach to the heart for all people. Joseph Stiber, president of A.H.H.A. said welcome to the people, also spoke about the organization’s goals and the annual scholarships of the Mary Katona Scholarship Fund. The ladies of the committee, Helen Sabo, Giziké Toth, and Marge Gaydosh took care of the food and coffee. They also arranged the delicious pastries brought by the guest ladies. Helen Sabo also donated Hungarian items for the raffle and designated fite proceeds to the scholarship fund. Matthew and Erica Balias mastering.
