16Th BAZAAR IS NUMBER ONE Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church held its 16th Annual Bazaar for three days in the middle of October. Over 1200 patrons visited the festivities, including members of St. Michael’s parish in Perth Amboy, New Jersey who chartered a bus for the trip. On Friday night “BARNEY” the purple dinosaur visited the children and Saturday events included a personal appearance by John LaBarca, a radio personality. All during the Bazaar many of our patrons sampled the excellent cooking of our dedicated parishioners. Fine, authentic Hungarian cuisine were available, like Noodles and Cabbage, Pumpkin Soup, Stuffed Cabbage and Goulash to name a few. Complementing these treats was the extensive selection of cakes, pastries, crepes and holiday style breads for sale by the piece or in bulk Many of our patrons left with more than they came with after playing our games of chance. A “Money Wheel” lucky number paid up three times the played amount and the “Straw Booth” offered five chances for a dollar. These included a 10 speed mountain bike, a cordless telephone, an AM-FM Cassette player and many more. The authentic Hungarian Store proved to be very popular. It carried an extensive inventory of items imported from Hungary. Among them jewelry, hand embroidered doilies, tablecloths, blouses, books, records, spices, as well as other specialty and hard-to-fmd items. Topping our celebration was the awarding of prizes in the annual church raffle. TTie first prize winner was Christine Toth who was awarded the $1,000 travel certificate. Congratulations! Our thanks to all of the workers and patrons for having made this Bazaar a success. We thank you for your effort and support. SEE YOU NEXT YpAR! , KÖSZÖNJÜK A LÁTOGATÁST! VISZONT LÁTÁSRA! Sáron A.
