De most Kitty után kell néznem. Vérzett a szive a bátyjáért. Menyasszonya elvesztése végzetes csapást jelentene Wilhelmre . . . Rosszat sejtett. — Kitty lefeküdt. Megfájdult a feje, — mondta a bátyja levertem — üzenet jött Hardstonetól, hogy ne várjuk ma este, mert ismerőseivel Boulogneba hajózik át. Wilhelm leült a húga mellé és Philippine ijedten nézett rá. De Wilhelm némán bámult maga elé. — Nem jön többé vissza?— kérdezte a leány rémülten. — Nem, — felelte Wilhelm kurtán. Philippine elhallgatott. A szürke alkonyat ránehezedett a mellére. Nagyszámú közönség előtt kezdődött a Union County liga mérkőzés. New Brunswick mindjárt leszorítja -ellenfelét, de a csatársort balszerencs kiséri, eredményt nem tudnak elérni, főleg mert a Summit kapusa mindent ment. Az első félidő 20-ik percében Varga Mihály passzából végre A1 Chimieleski gólt rúg. Pár percre rá Summit kiegyenlít. A második félidőben Varga Jenő letolja a labdát Szabónak, aki fordulásból gólt rúg. Czakó Gábor most érkezett Budapestről. Pontos passzaival és gyors lövéseivel kitűnt a csapatból. Summit durva játékkal igyekezett nemtudását pótolni. E durvaság eredményeként A1 Chimieleski súlyosan megsérült. Most vaásrnap d. u. 2:30-kor (nov. 5-én) Newarkon játszik a H. A. A.
