THE SCAPE GOAT - A Poem About László Tôkés - Written by Joseph Kovácsy „BŰNBAK" (Tőkés Lászlónak) *______________* Az Isten útjai kifürkészhetetlenek -többször porosak, néha megtörhetetlenek, az érzi igazán, ki járja éjjél-nappal, akinek a bensője tele van panasszal -kiben nem alszanak ki sohase a lángok, akiben élnek még nagy, reményteljes álmok, ki krisztusként szenvedi véres golgotáját, aki, ha kell körmével védi meg oltárát -kinek az Istene hitet s erőt adott bár cserébe kínt, fájdalmat, gyalázást kapott,. mégis magassan hordja Krisztusa keresztjét mert tudja, hogy számára itt minden egy szentség, kit nem tántoríthatnak meg átkos izmusok se Krisztus köntösébe megbújt pilátusok, kinek a szabadság nem kétes illúzió mert létjogosultsága érdem, nem passzió -aki elhivatott egy szent rendelésre annak lőpor, lázadás forrong az erébe' -az nem hunyászkodó, az megállja a vártát az barri kádján büszkén lobogtatja zászlát és nem adja fel jussát amit sorsa adott, az még akkor is harcol amikor már halott -előtte nincs más csak a hazaszeretete amit Istene plántált háborgó véribe, az nem megalkuvó, az glóriás és magyar, azt istene küldte - rá építeni akar -azt nem gáncsolhatják el bitangok, zsarnokok míg hitéből születnek ezrével mártírok akinek nevében megmozdulnak a hegyek; az hazájá szolgálja, az máskép nem tehet -az egy Gránit maga - kemény, megdönthetetlen, azt magyar golgotánkra ítélte az Isten... Every present member is asked to bring in one new member until March 18,1993, when a big celebration is planned for a God's will and His ways are unpredictable - Often they are misty, always unbreakable, So sustains it the one, who walks them day and night, Whose innermost soul is filled by grievance and fight Within whom sparkling lights will never come to fade, Neither do hopeful dreams, great-grand visions abate, Who suffers pain like Christ on high Golgotha's Hill In defense of Altar using claws and nails at will - Who received from his God faith, certitude and name Although in return his reward: pain, suffering and shame, Still on bearing Christ's Cross he superbly insists In knowledge that for him one sanctity exists, Who can't be terrorized by "isms" of damnation From pilâtes dressed in robes in a land or nation, For whom freedom is not doubtful fixation His life-style being but mere justification - Who has been called by God for a sacred mission Carrying in his blood dynamite, eruption - Such can't be crouching, he stands firmly on guard On barricade he waves the honored flag onward Never surrendering his lot given by fate, Such will even fight when death comes and all seems late For him none else exists but fervor of his task - His bond's planted in blood for what his God will ask, Stands erect and magyar in veins with true clear foment He fights, he builds on Him as a true God-sent He can't be restrained by bullies, despots, tyrants, His brave faith will bring forth kins, martyrs by thousands In his heroic name mountains will move and shake, His exemplar, virtue will arise an earth-quake, Firm Granite-rock is he, cannot be otherwise, Condemned to Calvary by Infinite and wise. formal reception! Recently Past Events Of Our Magyar Club Our greatest event of the past year undoubtedly was the Christmas Celebration in the so-called "Season of Gratitude" This great event in the Season was our Magyar Club's Annual Christmas Celebration on December 12, Saturday, 1992 in the Omni Hotel of the Cleveland Clinic. This Christmas Party was the festive closing event of our Club's 68th year. Social hour was at 6:30 p.m., and dinner was served at 7:30p.m. Music was by "The Hungarians" from Akron, Ohio. We had traditional Christmas caroling and our usual dance. Chairman: László Bojtos. In the fashionable elegance of the spacious ballroom, the festive event was held to the extreme pleasure of all attending. As an additional surprise feature of theBanquet, three volunteer workers of the Club received a distinct honor: Edward Kovácsy, Emery Szabó and Dr. Stephen Szabó for extraordinary services. Each was separately introduced by appointed speakers and each replied warmly, expressing their gratitude for the words and the gifts received. Fun Night Dinner was held on January 22, 1993. This night featured a magician, fortune teller, raffle, music and vocal entertainment. Bill Köteles and Ted Toth were in charge. Those in attendance enjoyed this informal fun-night with great pleasure just for the sole sake of togetherness. Similar occasions will be planned in the future.
